The Art Director oversees the design and visual aspects of Health magazine. This position collaborates closely with the Executive Creative Director to ensure a consistent visual identity across the brand, and brand related projects.
Work closely with Executive Creative Director and Photo Director to conceptualize, plan and execute covers, features and section layouts
Collaborate with Editor in Chief and Editors on story concepts and direction
Art direct food, still life, beauty, fitness and celeb photo shoots as appropriate
Commission illustration, explore and cultivate new talent (photographers, stylists and illustrators)
Manage, direct and mentor art department staff, including freelancers
Oversee daily workflow and layout releases
Work with photo/edit/production staff to monitor and meet all production and shipping deadlines
Work with pre-press team to mark up and review color corrections
Work with production and art department to ensure quality control on designs
Ability to juggle and meet multiple deadlines
Available to travel for cover shoots
Driven: You have a sophisticated sense of design, photography and typography. You have an interactive approach to design and a passion for conceptualizing and designing. Must have a strong interest in content matter (fitness, celeb, beauty, health, food)

Experienced: You have photo shoot experience, a broad knowledge of photographers and illustrators and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office and Woodwing. You have color correcting experience and understand quality control on final pages
