The Lifestyle Ecommerce Writer will join a central team of writers and editors that will create commerce content to be distributed across many Meredith brands: Real Simple, Travel + Leisure, Better Homes & Gardens, InStyle and more. This role requires someone who is passionate about writing, lifestyle, and shopping, and can produce multiple articles per day, creating content that inspires Meredith’s large audiences to make informed, qualified purchases.
This position will report into the Ecommerce Editorial Lead.
Demonstrate experience and interest in creating commerce content for users along all stages of their purchasing journey (from browsing to researching and making a purchase)
Write numerous shopping articles per day which generate high traffic and affiliate revenue
Participate in weekly pitch meetings
Identify and carry out commerce content opportunities within lifestyle categories including home decor, travel, tech, and food.
Use data and analytics to brainstorm and guide content decisions
Collaborate with other Ecommerce and digital writers, and various members of the larger affiliate team
Build own content within CMS
Comfortable working in a fast paced and matrixed organization
A strong writer who enjoys/is interested in creating commerce content and coming up with creative opportunities to generate sales
Able to write strong headlines that drive high engagement/page views
Familiar with SEO best practices
Willing to use data to guide content decisions and methodical in testing ideas over and over again in order to achieve desired results
