In an era with thousands of ETFs, mutual funds, stocks, and model portfolios to choose from, Magnifi demystifies and simplifies investing, providing insights and information that save time and help investors make smarter decisions. 

As Director of Security & Privacy, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of a comprehensive information and data security strategy. As the first internal security hire, you will establish strategic & tactical objectives, along with defining operating policies and procedures. We seek an individual with an entrepreneurial spirit excited to grow a function from its infancy into a robust and scalable practice. 


  • Identify and implement a Data Privacy framework that aligns to our company culture and risk appetite
  • Gain sufficient knowledge of Magnifi data infrastructure in order to intelligently assess the security and privacy of information processing, transmission, and storage
  • Create and maintain strong relationships across the organization, including Legal, Product and Engineering
  • Contribute meaningfully to technical audit requirements, including SOC1, SOX, PCI, and Experian Third-Party Security standards
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with Data Privacy legislation, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and similar


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited college/university in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields
  • 8+ years experience in the consumer data security field
  • 5+ years experience in leading information security or data privacy teams 
  • Strong understanding of data privacy standards
  • Ability to thrive in a highly demanding, entrepreneurial, and fast-paced environment 
  • Highly flexible, good tolerance for ambiguity, and able to quickly adapt to changing priorities
  • A top performer with a proactive approach who has a “doer” & problem-solver mentality 
  • An exceptional team player with strong communication skills
  • A local presence in Denver or Boulder is preferred


For Colorado Applicants: The expected starting salary range for this position in Colorado is between $170,000 - $190,000. Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. The position is also eligible for incentive compensation as well as client acquisition bonus programs.
