Meet TIER-Dott:

We believe in a future where inner cities are free of cars, congestion and pollution. By offering our dockless electrical scooters and bikes as convenient alternatives for short-distance travel, we believe we can make that future possible. Our mission is to free our cities with clean rides for everyone in Europe and beyond, together.

Founded in Europe, TIER-Dott is comprised of a highly experienced team of inquisitive minds in mobility and tech. What we do today has a tangible impact on tomorrow. We reached our in-house sustainability target of 100% renewable energy, and ensure equitability in our communities through collaborating with city charities, officials and safety boards.

About the Role:

At TIER-Dott, we're on a mission to revolutionise urban transportation with cutting-edge micromobility solutions. Our fleet of vehicles plays a crucial role in providing sustainable and efficient transportation options to our customers. We are actively seeking a dedicated and motivated Vehicle Procurement Lead to ensure the highest quality, reliability, and user experience of our off the shelf vehicles (OTS) and mobile network operators (MNOs). That person will optimise our vehicles performance through commercial and contractual levers, whilst supporting vehicle product managers responsible for technical requirements (Vehicle Product team) and supply chain managers responsible for spare parts orders (Supply Chain team).

What you’ll do:

As our Vehicle Procurement Lead, you'll play a key role in securing the best value for our company by strategically sourcing and purchasing hardware goods and services. Here's how you'll make an impact:

  • Partner with internal stakeholders, such as engineers, vehicle product managers and supply chain managers to understand technical requirements and identify purchasing needs. This includes researching, evaluating, and qualifying suppliers for assigned product categories. You will conduct various market analysis to identify new or alternative suppliers and assess their capabilities.
  • Analyse market trends and pricing to optimise procurement strategies and identify cost-saving opportunities. Develop and implement cost-reduction initiatives for assigned categories, considering total cost of ownership (TCO). With the hardware team you are responsible for the financial performance of our vehicles from the initial sourcing to the end-of-life (recycling, reselling, etc).
  • Conduct Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Quotes (RFQs) as appropriate, and negotiate competitive pricing and terms with suppliers. Employ advanced negotiation tactics to secure the best possible value, including cost, quality, delivery timelines, and payment terms.
  • Manage supplier relationships, ensuring on-time delivery, quality compliance, and adherence to contracts. Develop and implement strategies to improve vehicle financial performance over time. Build a long-term alignment with our suppliers to move towards a more strategic collaboration. This should include regular visits to China and building the relationship at an executive level.
  • Leverage strategic thinking to support R&D and innovation that is not directly connected to pure financial performance (eg. advanced safety features). Identify further commercial opportunities to deliver on those ambitions.

What you’ll need:

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 8-12 years of experience in a procurement or purchasing role
  • Speaks Mandarin and has experience negotiating with suppliers in China
  • Strong understanding of procurement strategies and negotiation tactics
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in managing supplier relationships and contracts
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders (eg. product managers, engineers)
  • Experience in the Micro-Mobility or Automotive industry (a plus)
