Role: Accountant

Manager: Business Operations and Finance Lead

Role Summary:  

As an Accountant on Tia’s Finance team, you will play a critical role in managing the financial health of Tia. You will serve as a key contributor in building Tia’s in-house accounting team from the ground up. This role will be responsible for the month-end close process, audits, and budgeting. You will work proactively and cross-functionally to build efficient financial operations across the organization.

What you’ll do

  • Own Tia’s month-end close process including accruals, intercompany expenses, and reconciliations
  • Own day to day activities around Tia’s AP process including but not limited to invoice processing and vendor management 
  • Own the corporate credit card and employee reimbursement programs 
  • Manage Accounts Receivable, including invoice creation, entry and delivery 
  • Provide support for Tia’s financial audits & tax filings
  • Reconcile accounts and perform variance analysis when needed
  • Maintain a bird’s eye view of Tia’s accounting processes to constantly identify areas for growth and improvement. 
  • Document Tia’s financial policies to enable the function to scale 
  • Manage external accounting support including regular guidance and oversight on key accounting and bookkeeping tasks

About you: 

  • 2-3+ years of accounting or Industry experience, Big 4 experience a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA a plus
  • Month-end close experience
  • You have managed external consultants and shared services
  • You effectively source information that may not be publicly available, and are able to triangulate information to get to the truth
  • Efficiency in problem-solving and responding to internal and external stakeholders
  • You’re a direct and concise communicator, who can efficiently get the point across

Skills 

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to manipulate and digest mass amounts of data
  • Experience with Bill.com and Quickbooks or other relevant accounting tools
  • Knowledge of accounting principles in accordance with US GAAP 
  • SQL experience preferred
