Role Summary: 

As a Product Designer, you will create best-in-class product design solutions and experiences for Tia’s members, non-members, and providers. You have a background in product, visual, and/or UX design. You will collaborate with the Product and Design teams to create pixel-perfect, seamless, and highly functional design solutions. You will design across devices and form factors, creating a cohesive brand experience that celebrates female health and wellbeing, helping women achieve optimal health as defined by themselves. You will be a key player in developing Tia’s innovative product experience and ecosystem to revolutionize women’s healthcare for all women over their lifespan (for both patients and providers!) 

At Tia, Design is not a siloed function but a core ingredient that touches every part of the Tia brand, experience, and company. Success in this role requires superior craft and excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with many other teams at Tia, from the Care Team (doctors, providers, NP’s, etc.) to Product (product managers, engineers, and operations), amongst others. You will also produce work that pushes healthcare brand boundaries and establishes Tia as the most loved and trusted brand in women’s health. You love moving quickly, getting rapid feedback and iterating, and continuously pushing the bar of excellence that “wows” not just designers but the lay(wo)man (and providers!) in the world.

Skills:

  • At least 2 years professional experience designing and shipping compelling consumer-facing product experiences required. Experience with healthcare not required.
  • Create pixel-perfect product design solutions, thoughtfully considered user flows, and crisply defined UI animations. 
  • Craft detailed and thorough user journeys that account for all edge cases and error states, leaving no holes or gaps in the experience.
  • Strong attention to detail, including typography, spacing, state changes, interactions, color, and error states.
  • Communicate and present design solutions.
  • Designing for and appreciating the strategic balance of user needs, business goals, and engineering constraints.
  • Proficiency in Figma, Principle (or other prototyping software), and Adobe.
  • Experience developing product flows and user journeys.
  • Proficiency in creating, utilizing, and extending design systems and working with engineering to efficiently build and maintain them. 
  • Skilled at executing quickly to deliver design solutions on time.
  • Adept at working rapidly and iteratively and not getting attached to design solutions.
  • Skilled at creating beautiful, visually compelling product design solutions.

Responsibilities: 

  •  Create best in class product designs and experiences
    • Create pixel-perfect design solutions.
    • Create effective UI animations.
    • Create descriptive and clarifying user flows. 
    • Adhere to (and be continually building and adding to) the Tia Design System.
    • Never be over-protective or precious about your work, and be continuously sketching and pushing yourself to design the best solutions.
  •  Communicate effectively between teams and adhere to project timelines to meet goals and deadlines
    • Continually communicate project status.’
    • Ask questions to ensure all needed information is received 
    • Effectively seek feedback that helps make decisions and move projects forward.
    • Work with Head of Design to ensure timelines are met
  • Design and advocate for the user
    • Deeply understand and design against business goals and work closely with Product Managers to design the best experience for the user around the desired business outcome.
    • Design for the user by incorporating user feedback, UX and strategic research, and data in design decision-making.
    • Understand constraints and work with engineers to negotiate and balance design decisions accordingly.
  • Design for scale
    • Document and create all work in an understandable, legible, and interpretable way for someone else (specifically the Engineering and Product teams). E.g., label everything! No pronouns!
    • Adhere to (and be continually building and adding to) the Tia Design System.
    • Observe processes and think about ways to expand on them and introduce new ones. 
    • Be constantly researching, testing, and introducing new best practices for Tia design processes at Tia.
  • Assist in creating a strong team culture both for the design team and Tia at large 
    • Assist in onboarding new members of the Tia Design Team to feel welcomed, informed, and prepared to dive in.
