Role Title: Platform Engineering Manager

Reports To: Head of Engineering

Details of the Role

  • Type of Work: Full-time
  • Location: Remote (contiguous USA)

Role Summary:

As the platform engineering manager, you’ll use your extensive experience to build and grow a new platform and engineering team at Tia. You’ll be a hands-on leader, owning software architecture decisions and driving forward efforts for scalability and stability of our product platform.  You’ll mentor and provide coaching for engineers, build team culture, and bring top talent to Tia. As a leader at Tia, you will work cross functionally with product, engineering, operations, amongst others, to deliver impactful technology solutions.

What you’ll do:

  • Build and manage a new team of 5-8 engineers, providing career planning, coaching, and mentorship
  • Manage the engineering processes and evolve them as the product and team scales
  • Direct the implementation and observability of highly-available, scalable, and modern web services
  • Design, maintain, and evolve core libraries and services using NodeJs
  • Develop and scale automated testing and deployment capabilities
  • Supply the business with data infrastructure to enable informed business decisions
  • Hands-on work based on the needs of the team with a focus on management

About you:

  • You have 7+ years of professional experience in software development
  • You have 2+ years of engineering management experience
  • You have a penchant for building scalable and stable systems
  • You have proficiency with NodeJs
  • You have expertise in deploying microservices via AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • You have familiarity with best practices for IaaC tools such as Cloudformation or Terraform

You might also have but not required:

  • A background in DevOps or Data Engineering
  • A passion for solving complex healthcare problems
  • Familiarity with the AWS ecosystem
