Title: Sr. Accountant
Location: Remote - PH (Manila only)
Working Hours: 9PM - 6AM (Philippine Time)

Summary
Reporting to the Controller, you will play a critical role with our expanding Philippines accounting team at Thunder, a fast-moving, venture-backed startup.
The Sr. Accountant will work closely with the Controller to review, reshape and develop optimal internal accounting processes.

- Maintains the necessary schedules and documentation required for an external financial audit
- Is highly-organized, with an eye for detail and compliance, and will be excited by the opportunity to play multiple hands-on roles within the accounting function.
Roles + Responsibilities
Reporting to the Controller, the Sr. Accountant will hold responsibility for:
- QuickBooks Management: Serve as the primary expert for QuickBooks operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial data entry and management.
- Bill/Invoice Processing: Manage the complete cycle of bill and invoice processing, from receipt to payment, including verification of transactions, expense coding, bill entry and record keeping.
- Bank Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
- Month End Close: Assist in various month end close tasks, including reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, verification of payroll entries and accuracy of expenses, including prepaid expenses and accrued expenses.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring they comply with regulatory standards and company policies.
- Sales Invoicing: Assist the Controller with monthly sales billing, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Compliance and Regulations: Ensure adherence to financial laws and regulations applicable in the Philippines, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of changes in financial regulations and best practices.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to support financial operations, provide financial insights, and contribute to cost-saving initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3-5+ years of proven experience in accounting, with a strong focus on QuickBooks software
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and month end close processes
- Proficiency in bill/invoice processing and bank reconciliations
- Advanced Expertise with Excel and/or Google Sheets
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively in a team environment
Strongly-Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in the Philippines
- Exposure to Salesforce CRM Software
- Familiarity with GSuite/Google Docs/Google Sheets Product Suite
