About the Design Team

We’re a tight-knit and collaborative team of Product Designers, Content Designers, and Researchers. We advocate for our users, envision a future that inspires, and deliver high-quality experiences that solve customer problems and drive successful business outcomes. We collaborate regularly through design critiques, work sessions, and cross-functional discussions to influence the direction of the product and company as a whole.

About the Role

As a Senior Content Design Manager, you will lead and grow a team of talented Content Designers who are responsible for end-to-end product copy for homeowners and pros on Thumbtack. We’re looking for a seasoned manager who has the analytical and problem-solving skills to guide teams in working through complicated UI experiences on both mobile and web, as well as a strong track record of leading teams in developing top-notch user experiences. As a Sr. Content Design Manager, you’ll be expected to guide teams in creating clear, consistent messaging while passionately advocating for the needs of the user. You’ll help drive product positioning and communication strategy alongside your design, product and marketing partners, and create delightful, intuitive product experiences that leverage your expertise in UX design and content strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and build a diverse, passionate team of Content Designers
  • Coach and mentor the team and foster a healthy culture
  • Provide strategic clarity and focus while identifying and unblocking barriers to success
  • Collaborate with other design, writing, product, and engineering leaders on the strategic vision for Thumbtack
  • Create and execute Content Design strategies that stay ahead of the growing business and elevate the user experience

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience successfully managing a Content Design team within a tech company, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment
  • 7+ year experience in content design or related fields
  • Experience and knowledge of working in UX environment 
  • Experience working with AI and solid knowledge of Content Design’s role in AI
  • Strong collaboration and influence skills
  • Proven track record of identifying and executing on product and design opportunities where content played a key role
  • Strong portfolio of Content Design achievements
