About the Product Team
Our product team is responsible for helping create the company strategy and bringing it to life in a way that is consistent with our mission. We partner with engineering, design, analytics and more to craft a marketplace that delivers business to our pros while helping millions of customers get their projects done each year. Our job is to deliver game changing products that drive business results.
About the Role
The Marketplace teams are at the center of our company: they are the matchmakers that turn supply and demand into jobs done, and growth for our business. As the Marketplace lead, you will be responsible for setting the strategy of our marketplace, the future of our product, and the optimal way for customers to find the right pro based on market conditions. You’ll lead a team that works on a variety of projects across the product with a diverse set of team members.
- Lead development of strategy and product roadmap for managing supply<>demand dynamics, market health, matching, monetization and marketplace integrity.
- Create industry leading products that drive meaningful business results.
- Build a strong product organization by hiring and developing world-class product managers.
- Lead, motivate and promote a positive work environment.
- Create and maintain an inclusive and diverse environment.
- Collaborate with Engineers, Designers, Analysts, GTM and Operations to ideate, prioritize and deliver great solutions for our customers and professionals.
- Coordinate closely w/ other product teams, operations, finance, and our executive team.
- Lead other cross-product initiatives as a key leader responsible for building Thumbtack.

- 6+ years of product management experience with proven track record of defining and launching successful end-to-end consumer web and mobile products in high-growth organizations
- 2+ years of experience hiring, leading & mentoring a team of high performing product managers
- Experience solving tough user problems with elegant and scalable systems
- Experience working on marketplace mechanics or complex analytical challenges
- Excellent user-centric design, product sense and business judgment
- Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience working in a marketplace company
- Experience working at a high-growth startup
