About the Role

3S UK, part of Three Ships, are looking for a Production Editor with a robust background in editorial and SEO, with strong organisation skills to join our dynamic and growing team.  This position offers a hybrid work environment, blending the flexibility of remote work with the opportunity for collaboration in an office environment. 

You'll oversee content for a portfolio of well-known media sites and specialist vertical sites, ensuring it resonates with both search engines and the target audiences. As a key player in our organization, you will take charge of crafting and delivering content that not only meets but exceeds our marketing and editorial standards, ensuring the timely delivery of impactful content.

Your role will extend beyond traditional production management; you will be actively involved in content planning and ideation. You will be instrumental in managing and mentoring our team of writers, overseeing multiple content projects from inception to publication, whilst fostering a happy, collaborative, productive, and goal-focused environment.

 Your Day-to-Day:

  • Champion our editorial standards by ensuring all content is genuinely helpful to the end user and primed for organic search success.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Content to plan and develop a diverse content aimed at consumer audiences. This includes buying guides, product and service reviews, how-to articles, FAQs, interviews, and multimedia content like infographics and videos.
  • Uphold editorial excellence through meticulous editing and proofreading, with a keen eye on Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO).
  • Collaborate closely with our SEO team 
  • Participate in regular editorial meetings to brainstorm ideas and set deadlines.
  • Commission and edit work delivered by a team of talented freelance and full-time writers, ensuring content excellence and compliance with Google's E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness) standards.
  • Efficiently manage the production workflow to ensure a seamless process, from concept to publication, making the best use of our team's skills and time, whilst meeting stringent deadlines.
  • Coach our in-house team of writers to create a culture of continual improvement.
  • Use our CMS to publish articles.
  • Liaise with brand partners, ensuring adherence to style and editorial guidelines.
  • Have a detail-oriented and organized approach to project management, owning the success of each assigned project.
  • Use SEO and revenue data to make recommendations that will increase the effectiveness of the content. 

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree (Journalism, Communications, English, or another writing-intensive field preferred).
  • 3+ years of experienced editing or producing content for the web. Experience in SEO-driven content preferred.
  • People management experience is preferred but not essential.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills: You maintain a methodical process and high standard of excellence in your work while balancing multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally to manage project plans.
  • Strong understanding of content and on-page SEO.
  • Ownership mentality: You treat each content piece like it is your own and stand behind every word.
  • An empathetic manager of writers. You know what it takes to produce optimised content at a fast pace and enjoy helping a team achieve that goal.
  • Agility: You are comfortable in an often-changing environment.

The Package

Base salary and performance-based bonus commensurate with experience. At 3S UK, you’ll have access to a pension as well as a growing list of competitive benefits.
