SUMMARY
The Accountant is responsible for the accurate recording of daily finance transactions as well as the production of income statements and balance sheets, collectively known as financials, for review. Responsible for reconciliations of GL subledger to ledger. Responsible for reconciliations, for ensuring timely payments to vendors, and timely application of customer payments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyzes and prepares general ledger account reconciliation.
- Maintains accurate accounting and team balances following internal processes. .
- Prepares routine and adjusting journal entries.
- Performs general accounting duties of the organization for any number of specific functions including cash, balance sheet, GL accounts, fixed assets, capital expenditures, payroll & benefits, third-party services, and year-end audit support.
- Prepares preliminary financial statements.
- Reports issues/inconsistencies if discovered.
- Acts as liaison between Accounting and Operations.
- Ensures proper financial recording and distribution of company funds.
- Assists in creating Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) manuals for the accounting department.
- Ability to research GAAP accounting policies and assist in implementing new accounting guidance.
- Maintains confidentiality of all company, client, employee, and vendor information.
QUALIFICATIONS
- BS in Accounting, Finance, or another business-related field.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong understanding of GAAP.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Requiring a minimum of 2 years experience.
