SUMMARY
The Assistant Controller maintains the regular cadence, accuracy, and legality of Thnks’ accounting functions. Thnks’ Assistant Controller also manages corporate financial documentation, tax preparation, internal audits, budgets, and financial plans. As a result of careful attention to the financial workings of Thnks, the controller limits corporate waste, corrects inefficiencies, and helps Thnks make sound financial decisions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Thnks’s controller fulfills critical organizational functions which include but are not limited to the following:
- Planning, directing and coordinating all operational accounting functions.
- Preparation & management of annual tax returns, audits, and business filings.
- Responsible for full cycle accounting including A/P, A/R, payroll & financial reporting.
- Process improvement & implementation to ensure GAAP adherence.
- Assist in Treasury Management responsibilities
- Effectively communicate Thnks’s financial information to internal teams as appropriate.
- Assist in any applicable hiring, training and retention of staff.
- Ad Hoc analysis & reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS
- BS in Accounting, Finance, or another business-related field.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong understanding of GAAP.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- CPA license is a plus.
- Experience in the software industry is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience leading external audits,not limited to preparing audit schedules, management of requests, and ensuring a smooth audit process.
- Minimum of 3 years progressive accounting experience.
