We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional for the Regional Head role to join our rapidly growing global workforce in Sandton, Johannesburg, South Africa. As the Regional Head, you will play a pivotal role in identifying new business opportunities, fostering key client relationships, and driving the growth of our Retail and Corporate FX and CFD business and Equities offerings. Your responsibilities will encompass executing the business development strategy, maintaining a robust development pipeline, and leveraging existing partnerships to generate new business. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, stay informed about financial markets, and contribute to the achievement of organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and supervise the team of account managers in the South Africa region, driving performance to achieve objectives, KPIs, and SLAs set group leadership and the regional board.
  • Build and manage a portfolio of high-value clients (HNW)/partners (B2Bs) within the South African markets, by acquiring new and growing existing ones.
  • Review various BI and Analytical trade data to build unique marketing campaigns for attracting and retaining active traders.
  • Collaborate closely with the marketing team to maximize lead generation, campaign effectiveness, and client (and partner) retention in these markets. Ensure regional campaigns are both highly relevant and resonate with target markets.
  • Expand the Active Trader and Premium Client Program regionally and work with global teams to tailor the offering.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between HNW clients/partners and ThinkMarkets C-Level suite, fostering strong relationships and effective communication.
  • Participate in related industry events and occasional travel to meet partners in other South African countries, cultivating partnerships and expanding ThinkMarkets' presence.
  • Contribute to the preparation of quarterly business plans tailored specifically for the South African markets, outlining strategic initiatives and growth approaches.
  • Leverage existing partner relationships to generate new leads and business opportunities.
  • Organize and participate in offline events on a periodical basis to enhance client engagement.

Requirements:

  • University degree in Finance, Economics, Banking, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven track record with at least 5 years of experience in a business development, director or managerial capacity in financial markets related to FX and CFD or comparable asset class/sector.
  • Have an understanding of Salesforce, Tableau and JIRA/Confluence
  • Fluent English language skills for effective communication and collaboration.
  • Advanced knowledge of trading platforms, order types, charting and other features commonly used by traders and financial markets professionals
  • Exceptional networking abilities to cultivate and maintain business relationships.
  • Initiative-driven approach with the ability to independently expand and generate business.
  • Capacity to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent numerical and mathematical skills with the ability to understand fundamentals of trading, margin, leverage, swaps, and pricing.
