Job brief:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Product Manager to lead the development and growth of our Weather Data APIs. You will be responsible for the entire product lifecycle, from defining the API roadmap and features to ensuring its successful launch and ongoing optimization. You will work closely with engineers, data scientists, sales, business development, and other stakeholders to build a robust and valuable API platform that serves the needs of our customers. Additionally, you will be responsible for building a global go-to-market strategy working with other product suites to create a combinatory value proposition to the market.

The impact you'll make:

  • Define the product vision and roadmap for our Weather Data APIs, aligning with overall business goals.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to understand user needs and industry trends. Develop a channel strategy that allows us to deepen our reach in the ecosystem, one vertical at a time.
  • Build strategies to maximize monetization of APIs with an approach to enhance pricing and optimize for distribution both directly and with Channel Partners.
  • Collaborate with engineers to design and develop the API architecture, ensuring scalability and performance.
  • Work with data scientists to define the data models and ensure data quality and accessibility through the API.
  • Develop clear and comprehensive API documentation for developers.
  • Manage the launch process, including beta testing, user onboarding, and marketing campaigns.
  • Monitor API usage and performance metrics, identifying opportunities for improvement and optimization.
  • Gather and analyze user feedback to iterate and enhance the API functionality.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in weather data technology and API design best practices.

What you've accomplished:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in product management, ideally with a focus on APIs or data products.
  • Proven track record of successfully launching and managing B2B, SaaS, and developer-facing products.
  • Deep understanding of weather data and its applications across various industries.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with API design principles and best practices (RESTful APIs, Webservices, JSON architectures, OpenAPI documentation).
  • Expertise with cloud platforms and data infrastructure.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience with agile methodologies and project management tools.
  • Programming experience and technology degree (BS or MS in CS or computer engineering) or background is a plus.
  • Experience working with weather data providers or meteorological organizations.
