Job brief:

This full-time role is critical to leading the development of comprehensive and complex Accounting & Finance and HR workflow solutions with overall accountability for the technical design, development, and delivery of The Weather Company (TWC) ERP and HRIS native and custom workflow solutions, reporting, and integration. This role supports the continued availability and evolving use of the TWC ERP and HRIS applications used by our internal users (ERP/HRIS) and experienced by consumers (ERP).

This platform provides relevant back office automation capability to help bring required efficiency and control to critical functions and business processes germane to TWCo’s current ERP and HRIS goals and objectives. The Sr. ERP/HRIS Engineer provides a level of transparency, governance, day-to-day guidance, and technical support across all current and future engineering work streams that drive critical capability.

This role will be responsible for implementing high-quality, scalable solutions on the NetSuite (ERP/WMS) and ADP (HRIS) platforms following best practices, including configuration and code, implementing complex integrations across TWCs front and back systems using middleware app (Boomi) and marketplace APIs, deploy solutions and code using automated deployment tools.  This role will take ownership of technical deliverables, and ensure production-grade quality work that is fully tested, delivered on time, within budget, and exceed stakeholder expectations in accordance with the agile Dev Shop practices. Identify opportunities for process improvements, mentor and support other business app admins, as needed, and support and maintain our environment.  This role is part advanced platform administrator, part developer, and part technical solutions architect.  

This role has a huge learning curve requiring detailed knowledge of  TWCo’s business model, accounting practices, and HR policies.  We need someone permanent in this critical role without the risk of losing company knowledge and business context through turnover.  Thus, a long-term strategy is to grow and retain top talent within a small team of developers serving a time & revenue-sensitive area of our BU.

The impact you'll make:

  • Ensure continued availability & accessibility of the multiple HRIS (ADP, Greenhouse) and ERP (NetSuite, Concur, Avalara) applications
  • Ensure the proper management of business-critical data (e.g., storage, security, privacy, access, audit, backup, recovery, and usage)
  • Ensure proper protocols for user, consumer, and partner (e.g., Genpact) user access management policies and protocols are in place and followed
  • Ensure oversight of critical time-sensitive reference and transaction (FO to BO) workflow BPs and SOPs aligning to current system requirements supporting 
  • Ensure required system/workflow customization (e.g., new OOB, configured and/or coded) is correctly and completely addressed to pace with business expectation
  • Ensure FO and BO (e.g., real-time and scheduled) integrations continue to function as required for data providing support and maintenance, as required
  • Ensure reported incidents and/or change requests (e.g., administration and engineering) are received, reviewed, and moved forward into resolution, per SLA
  • Ensure compilation and delivery notification and/or report for (run-time) decision-making
  • Ensure that all enhancement requests are fully vetted against any possible standard software functionality

What you've accomplished:

  • Languages: Java, JavaScript, SQL, Python
  • Experience with AWS (S3, EC2, SQS, etc.)
  • 8+ years experience in corporate systems engineering, specifically focusing on Accounting & Finance and HR systems integrations
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and methodologies to extract insights from Financial and HR data and inform integration strategies; strong analytical abilities to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to integrations and system functionalities
  • Experience in defining end-to-end test coverage, observability, alerting, and performance. Support production services
  • Strong understanding of compliance and security standards
  • Possess exceptional communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams; proficient in articulating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, fostering understanding and alignment; proficiency in creating comprehensive technical documentation and conducting training sessions for end-users to ensure smooth adoption of new systems or features

ERP

  • In-depth knowledge of financial systems such as Oracle NetSuite, Oracle Financials, SAP, Warehouse Management System, etc.  Strong understanding of finance and accounting principles to effectively bridge technical and financial domains

HRIS

  • In-depth knowledge of ADP payroll/HR workflows
  • Defining domain boundaries and implementing robust APIs for internal and public consumption of our Human Capital Management (HCM) services
