Job brief:
As a Business Analyst, you will be responsible for fueling data-driven decisions and collaborating across the organization. You’ll extract data from multiple sources (Adobe Analytics, Google Ad Manager, etc.) and deliver insights to empower strategic decisions for product improvement, user engagement, and revenue growth. You need to be proactive and thrive in our agile environment, wearing multiple hats, and partnering with diverse teams like Product, Editorial, Business Development, Sales, and Marketing. Utilizing your business knowledge and analytical expertise, you’ll share findings with our stakeholders, providing valuable insights on audience trends, product performance, revenue analytics, and related experimentation results. Beyond delivering reports, you’ll proactively identify opportunities, and present your findings with clarity and impact to leadership, shaping the future of our products, content, and user experience.

The impact you'll make:
- Act as a digital analytics consultant for TWC digital products (Weather Channel App, Weather.com, Weather Underground, Storm Radar, etc.)
- Help refine business questions and generate new hypotheses about the product and business through a deep understanding of the data, our users, and our business needs
- Act as a strategic data analytics partner to our Product teams and help conduct data analyses to support new feature launches, drive improvements to existing products, and inform product roadmap while operating cross-functionally across product, engineering, operations, and other stakeholders.
- Manage direct experimental designs: identify parameters, determine success metrics, perform data validation, and monitor progress.
- Help define and standardize KPIs and data governance best practices.
- Partner with engineering, data engineering, and analytics to improve the availability, integrity, accuracy, and reliability of data logging and data pipelines
- Design and deliver periodic health metrics as well as ad hoc analysis to help drive strategic business decisions
- Build best-in-class self-service dashboards using analytical and visualization techniques to influence business and product decisions.
- Provide data support to Product, Editorial, Business Development, and Marketing to build new reports and dashboards
- Proactively monitor various trends and events, interpret results, draw detailed, impactful conclusions, and narrate those findings to relevant partners
What you've accomplished:
At a Minimum You Have:
- Advanced knowledge of audience analytics platforms such as Adobe Analytics and Amplitude
- Advanced knowledge of visualization and reporting tools (Excel, Qlik, Looker, or Tableau)
- Digital Publisher experience in an analytics role capacity and an understanding of digital media metrics such as CPM, CTR, Fill Rate, Unique Users, Page Views, Impressions, and visits
- Comfort with ambiguity, evolving priorities, and an ability to operate autonomously
- Ability to narrate insights for complex problems to non-technical audiences from frontline operators up to and including executives
- Experience operating and collaborating cross-functionally with distributed teams
- Experience with quant analysis and analyzing A/B/n and multivariate experiments
A Plus If You Have:
- Experience in digital advertising and ad sales analytics with a background in Yield Management, Ad Sales Operations, Revenue Operations, Programmatic Yield
- Knowledge of Ad Server data analyzing revenue, impressions, pricing, etc.
- Experience with quant analysis and analyzing A/B/n and multivariate experiments
- Understanding of statistical methods and experiment designs for analytical problems
- Experience using SQL to extract and manipulate data
- Experience with CDP such as mParticle or Segment
- 1+ years experience with ETL processes
- Experience with machine learning modeling and predictive analytics. Can interpret and utilize results to inform product teams and conduct further analysis
