JOB MISSION & GOALS

The mission of this job is manage a team of Information Specialists and the processes that allow for the collection and maintenance of information through the Finder Africa platform

Finder Africa is a free online platform that serves as the leading resource for in-depth information about the African entrepreneurial ecosystem i.e. start ups, investors, hubs, and multinational corporations. By combining data technology, crowdsourcing and a team of Information Specialists that actively collect information online, Finder Africa will be able to provide the most up to date information and insights about the African entrepreneurial ecosystem

You will:-

  • Develop internal working processes to collect information gathering through online and other sources and to update information gathered regularly
  • Oversee the ongoing training of the Information Specialists as per the standard working methodologies
  • Periodically review and validate the accuracy of the profiles created by the Information Specialists 
  • Conduct research, data analysis and reporting on key investment trends and other innovation ecosystem issues
  • Contribute towards the launch of the platform in the African markets and promote the adoption of the of the platform by African and global users

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • You have experience in related positions such as tech analyst, information specialist etc with a VC
  • You have minimum 2 years of managing a team
  • You hold a BSc, an equivalent or relevant skills in onlines searching, research & analysis
  • You have a strong preference for knowledge and experience with SQL
  • Team management and Leadership skills: You can coordinate a group of individuals to perform a task
  • Strong communication and presentation skills: You have the ability to speak comfortably with clients/ prospects as well as write and speak in English
  • Extremely detail oriented: You are able to pay close attention and notice minor details
  • You have a strong interest in start ups, venture capital, and entrepreneurial programs and a passion for developing the African innovation ecosystem
  • Entrepreneurial mindset: You will be building and managing a team and working with leaders in entrepreneurial ecosystem
