Job description:

As Sales Director you are responsible for leading the Retail and Sports business across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and the Netherlands, driving profitable growth and expanding market share across key categories. Your role includes optimizing distribution within food retail, drugstores, convenience stores, and gym/sports channels. With a strong foundation in Field Sales and Key Account Management within the FMCG industry, you will leverage omnichannel strategies and lead the B2B team, aiming to elevate brand presence and performance.

Your responsibilities:

  • Drive revenue growth across  Retail and Sports channels and expand market share in core categories for both brands.
  • Maximize distribution and store listings in food retail, drugstores, convenience stores and gyms
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic retail partners at national and regional levels to secure prime in-store positioning
  • Enhance distribution and secondary placements through effective Field Sales strategies, focusing on visibility in gyms and fitness chains
  • Leverage D2C strengths to drive retail growth, implementing an omnichannel strategy that aligns online and offline sales channels
  • Build up and lead a team of 70+ professionals across Key Account Management, Field Sales, and Sports channels, fostering cross-functional collaboration with Online B2B, Demand Planning, Trade Marketing, Brand, Operations, and Finance
  • Focus on optimizing demand planning, forecasting, and operational excellence 
  • Increase SKU distribution per retailer, optimize product visibility on shelves, and create performance-based trade terms to incentivize partners

Your profile:

  • Minimum 10 years in commercial leadership roles within FMCG, with a focus on food retail and drugstores
  • Strong leadership skills and proven experience in managing and scaling high-performing sales teams across Field Sales and Key Account Management
  • Deep understanding of the DACH retail landscape and experience with omnichannel strategy integration
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills, with a focus on achieving results in a high-growth environment
  • Fluent in German and English
