ABOUT THE JOB:

The Pro’s Closet is seeking a strategic Director, Content & Editorial to join our dynamic marketing team. In this role you will directly contribute to and execute the overarching content strategy to help transform the experience of how customers shop and engage with TPC. 

You will work with our CMO to develop, articulate, and execute the overall content strategy for The Pro’s Closet and The Radavist in concert with brand goals and key organization KPIs. You’re someone who can drive the direction of a publication, coordinates productions and creatives with ease, ensures best-in-class quality, and generates ideas that will push our brand content to the next level. You’re bursting with creativity, but balance that with a strong fidelity to budgets, deadlines, details, and delivering the best product possible. To be successful you will need to work closely with Product and Tech to align around Content + Commerce and user experience, while also collaborating closely with the CRM, Analytics and eCommerce team - so cross functional collaboration in your jam.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Develop and execute a content strategy for TPC’s Magazine and Radavist blogs, CRM, newsletter, video, and social channels
  • Manage editorial budgets and partners across copywriting, creative, design, production, and marketing to guide our business, brand and company mission forward
  • Examine the entire customer journey and audit existing programs to make recommendations for inspiring our customers through content and messaging
  • Effectively manage both ongoing, high-level brand initiatives and individual program launches
  • Translate brand strategy into powerful and purposeful creative concepts
  • Design effective ways to reach and build relationships with consumers across multiple channels through brand and product storytelling
  • Use customer and industry data to inspire content ideas and work with strategists to validate
  • Incorporate search engine optimization best practices and monitor results for continuous improvements in search results
  • Ensue that our content, creative and messaging resonates with our audiences will drive acquisition and engagement
  • Manage SEO content initiatives and collaborate with our in house team, agencies and freelancers to establish and execute the SEO strategy
  • Report on content trends, key growth metrics, and identify content winners (and losers) for traffic, revenue, and engagement
  • Collaborate with marketing, CX, purchasing/merchandising, technology, and others to deliver compelling content experiences based on overall business objectives
  • Lead and manage our Editorial Content and Social teams

 

ABOUT YOU:

  • 7+ years of editorial, content management, creative strategy, or similar experience
  • 3+ years of experience managing outside contractors and media teams
  • Experience working in dedicated sr. editorial content or creative strategy role for an outdoor/eComm brand, editorial media company, or creative agency highly preferred
  • Posses a demonstrated track record of designing and implementing content strategies for consumer-facing brands or products
  • You have the ability to translate customer trends, insights, and segmentation data into actionable strategies and campaign-level plans and briefs
  • You love brainstorming, collaborating, and working with a team of talented writers and creatives
  • In depth knowledge of social media marketing and cultural trends
  • You are an effective communicator and supportive team member who keeps cool under the pressures of a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • You’re a culture builder, and know how to create strong team dynamics within your own team and throughout the organization
  • Enthusiastic about the outdoor/cycling industry, the people it attracts, and all the gear!
  • TPC requires employees to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 for in person work and company events as required by your role, unless you qualify for an exemption allowable under the law
