The Telemedicine Manager will report directly to the VP of Clinical Operations and play a pivotal role in shaping our company's clinical strategy and driving operational efficiency within our telemedicine provider team. This individual will be responsible for managing and overseeing all clinical telemedicine employees, ensuring that the needs of residents are met with the highest standards of care.

Shift Structure

  • General working hours are Monday-Friday 8am-6pm
  • Off hour times may be required to address emergent issues as reasonably necessary 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Management of the Telemedicine Coverage Schedule: Oversee the management and coordination of the telemedicine coverage schedule to ensure effective patient care.
  • Direct Management of Telemedicine Providers: Provide direct oversight and support to telemedicine providers to ensure optimal performance and patient care.
  • Monitoring of Overall Utilization and Productivity of the Telemedicine Team: Track and analyze the utilization and productivity of the telemedicine team to identify areas for improvement.
  • Readmission to Hospital (RTH) Review: Conduct thorough reviews of cases to identify, educate and address factors contributing to readmissions.
  • Proper Scheduling: Ensure optimal scheduling of telemedicine shifts to maximize efficiency and patient/client satisfaction by covering all necessary openings.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor and evaluate the quality of telemedicine services to maintain high standards of patient care.
  • Documentation Review: Conduct regular reviews of medical documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulations.
  • Proper Signout Between Telemed and Daytime Team: Facilitate smooth handovers and communication between the telemedicine team and the daytime medical staff.
  • Protocol and Procedure Development: Develop and implement protocols and procedures to optimize workflow and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Coordination with Partner Facility Leadership: Coordinate with partner facility leadership in relation to concerns regarding the telemedicine service.
  • Credentialing Liaison: Liaise with the credentialing team to ensure all telemedicine providers have the appropriate state licenses to support coverage.
  • Participation in Hiring Process: Participate in the hiring process for new telemedicine team members.
  • Collaboration with Other Departments: Collaborate with other departments, such as IT, compliance, and finance, to ensure seamless integration of telemedicine services with overall organizational goals.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • General Post-Acute/SNF knowledge or experience is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, nursing, or a related field is required.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems and charting practices in nursing homes.
  • Outstanding customer service skills and a high level of professionalism.
  • Technology and process-oriented.
  • Familiarity with key performance indicators and overall metric monitoring.
  • Experience with telemedicine providers and remote workflows.
  • Strong foundation in healthcare.
  • Must be a proactive self-starter who can perform tasks without direct supervision.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in a management position.
  • Ability to inspire and lead a team effectively.
