Essential Functions:
- Consistently exhibits behavior and communication skills that demonstrate our commitment to superior customer service, including quality, care, and concern with patients.
- Uses, protects, and discloses patients protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards.
- Directs patient to proper treatment area and prepares patient for treatment and/or labs.
- Assists in the transportation of patients and patient flow.
- Obtains records and reports vital signs and any other pertinent patient information to the RN or clinician.
- Administers medication, access IV, PICC, port for admin, and instructs patients on procedural preparations under the supervision of the clinician or RN.
- Follow up with pharmacies of new prescriptions as ordered by the clinician.
- Collects and labels tubes for blood draws.
- Maintains and cleans treatment areas and medical equipment.
- Maintains logs, records of medical procedures, and inventories of supplies.
- Triages telephone calls and reports to MD.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
- Able to provide coverage at additional clinics, as needed.
Education:
- High school education or equivalent
- Graduation from an accredited Licensed Vocational Nurse program
- Current LVN license
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers (AHA) or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (American Red Cross)
- Required: I.V. therapy/blood draw certification
Experience:
- 1-2 years of experience (Preferred but not required)
- Previous LPN/LVN work experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Computer literate
- Manual dexterity to use/handle equipment and instruments
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to concurrently perform multiple tasks
