Essential Functions: 

  • Consistently exhibits behavior and communication skills that demonstrate our commitment to superior customer service, including quality, care, and concern with patients.
  • Uses, protects, and discloses patients protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards.
  • Directs patient to proper treatment area and prepares patient for treatment and/or labs.
  • Assists in the transportation of patients and patient flow.
  • Obtains records and reports vital signs and any other pertinent patient information to the RN or clinician.
  • Administers medication, access IV, PICC, port for admin, and instructs patients on procedural preparations under the supervision of the clinician or RN.
  • Follow up with pharmacies of new prescriptions as ordered by the clinician.
  • Collects and labels tubes for blood draws.
  • Maintains and cleans treatment areas and medical equipment.
  • Maintains logs, records of medical procedures, and inventories of supplies.
  • Triages telephone calls and reports to MD.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
  • Able to provide coverage at additional clinics, as needed. 

Education: 

  • High school education or equivalent 
  • Graduation from an accredited Licensed Vocational Nurse program 
  • Current LVN license 
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers (AHA) or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (American Red Cross) 
  • Required: I.V. therapy/blood draw certification 

Experience: 

  •  1-2 years of experience (Preferred but not required) 
  •  Previous LPN/LVN work experience 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Computer literate
  • Manual dexterity to use/handle equipment and instruments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to concurrently perform multiple tasks
