What does this team do?

The Cloud Operations team is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the cloud infrastructure, specifically focusing on AWS, Azure, or GCP.  Key responsibilities include leading a team dedicated to cloud operations, fostering a culture of continuous improvement in AWS technologies, and ensuring operational excellence in the cloud environment. This involves managing AWS resources for optimal performance, implementing DevOps practices, and utilizing automation tools like AWS CloudFormation and Terraform. The team also addresses security and compliance, ensuring adherence to AWS security best practices and regulatory requirements.

What would you do in this role?

  • Team Management and Collaboration:
    • Lead a team focused on AWS, Azure or GCP cloud operations.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning in AWS technologies and practices.
  • AWS Operational Excellence:
    • Oversee the management of our AWS environment to ensure optimal performance.
    • Lead efforts in performance tuning, cost optimization, and operational efficiency within AWS.
  • DevOps and Automation:
    • Manage continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines in AWS.
    • Implement infrastructure as code using AWS CloudFormation and Terraform.
  • Security and Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with AWS security best practices and regulatory requirements.
    • Implement strategies for managing AWS security services like IAM, KMS, and GuardDuty.
  • Performance Monitoring:
    • Monitor and analyze AWS environments to identify areas for optimization.
    • Utilize AWS monitoring tools like CloudWatch and AWS X-Ray for performance insights.
  • Vendor and Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Maintain strong relationships with AWS and other vendors.
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders about AWS operational strategies and outcomes.

 What do you need to apply?

  • Experience managing a team that makes heavy use of modern dev ops tools.
  • 7+ years of experience in cloud operations, with a strong emphasis on AWS.
  • Expertise in AWS services and operational best practices.
  • Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes in AWS.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Tool Proficiency: 
    • Understanding of Cloud Architectural Patterns
    • Terraform
    • Docker
    • AWS
