Since then, we've become a disruptor in business news that’s moved markets, gotten the early scoop on billions of dollars of acquisitions, and told you what's happening inside companies like Apple, Meta and Google. As a subscription-only publication, we aim high and take on challenging stories and adhere to the highest of journalistic standards. What we put into the work is just as in-depth as our output. We've attracted tens of thousands of paying subscribers who look to us for breaking news stories and impactful features. As we look to expand our coverage in alignment with the needs of our subscribers, we continue to invest aggressively in our team. Our team is seeking an individual to lead our content for Forum, our exciting new social community for subscribers to have meaningful conversations with each other.
Who Are You?
At a time when online conversation has become so polarized and predictable, Forum is a place for smart people to share ideas and learn from each other in a high-trust environment. You understand the importance of knowing your audience, what resonates with them, and how to distill complex ideas into fresh, creative, and compelling content. This individual will be responsible for curating, surfacing and sourcing editorial for the platform from The Information’s community and beyond—putting them in contact with some of the most interesting writers in business.
The person will also get exposure to a high performing and fast paced newsroom and work closely with our editor in chief Jessica Lessin on community products.
Promote our articles and briefings in social networks, with a focus on creating engagement and increasing the size of our communities.
Manage editorial content calendar for all social media platforms, supporting evergreen content and large scale brand initiatives.
Develop and contribute to online engagement plans, create regular touchpoints that drive subscribers to log in, consume, and engage with content and other community members in the Forum.
Collaborate with the Editorial and Growth teams to roll out content that cover launches, features, and assist to deliver on sponsorships.
Have a keen eye for great creative and provide a constant stream of innovative ideas.
Work directly with our Editor in Chief Jessica Lessin on community products and driving engagement
Minimum of 5+ years of professional writing experience and be interested in the news.
Engaging communication style: you understand how content should be developed to trigger action and how responses should be created to encourage connections and amplify information.
An enthusiastic team player with a genuine obsession for social media, ideally with experience in fashion or with an ecommerce brand.
Along with a passion for storytelling and attention to detail, the candidate must have in-depth social media experience and a proven history of growing audiences.
Excellent grammar and written communication skills with an ability to adapt tone and voice to various audiences
