We’re looking for a Growth Marketing Designer to join our growth team—someone who can translate The Information’s journalistic ethos into beautiful, simple, high-impact product and marketing designs.

Who Are You?

You are a strategic contributor to the growth team that owns a critical role in conceptualizing and executing engaging visuals across various channels and media. With a mastery of design principles and solid understanding of growth marketing, you are comfortable defining creative direction and then rolling up your sleeves to create. You are ready to own the concept, design and execution of creative for growth and product campaigns from start to finish. You thrive in working with agile teams that don’t believe in red tape and love shipping great work and getting things done. You’ll be a key member in working with the members of the Growth, Product, and Engineering teams, you are excited to deliver against our strategic roadmap and hit business goals.

You love startup environments, and relish building things from the ground up. Your experience and passion spans multiple forms of digital design—social-media creative, email templates, product UX, house ads, paid marketing and can deliver across various touchposts. You’re happy to hop on a Zoom with an engineer to troubleshoot a problem, to design header art in one moment and a newsletter landing page in the next.  


  • Design conceptual, visually compelling product user experience, direct-response campaigns, and other creative projects and implement them across multiple digital channels (web, social, email campaigns, display and more) to attract and retain new subscribers

  • Take ownership of design initiatives for the Growth & Product teams. You will bring great ideas to the team and be the driving force to see them through

  • Work closely with the Product and Editorial teams to plan for and pass off emails and landing/project page designs, in addition to reviewing developed assets for quality control

  • Demonstrate strong understanding of user behavior, funnels, marketing channels, and mobile to fuel appropriate creative design and can inform iterative testing

  • Ensure The Information brand styles and voice is represented in all projects

  • Help evolve our design system across channels and platforms and convey The Information’s editorial sensibility in marketing and product materials 

  • The opportunity to work with our Editorial team on story artwork and other projects


  • 5+ years of experience in a digital-design role

  • Fluency with design software, including the full Adobe Suite and Figma

  • Strong aesthetic skills with the ability to combine various colors, fonts and layouts

  • Familiarity with best practices for performance creative (Twitter, Google, Facebook, Instagram)

  • Experience working with B2C/media/journalism brands a plus

  • Working knowledge of HTML / CSS for web and email is a plus

  • Strong hands-on team player, not afraid to execute work at all levels depending on the workload
