The Information is seeking an editor to oversee our new Opinion section and related projects, editing leading entrepreneurs, executives and thinkers of our day on technology, business and media topics.
This person will also play a key role in a series of new yet-to-be-announced products that curate high-quality opinion and analysis for our readers.
Our Opinion editor will shape the conversation around the most complex and important issues in business, science and policy. It’s a chance to edit some of Silicon Valley’s luminaries, as well as to highlight the work of lesser-known voices—and join a team of highly experienced and talented journalists.
Our goal is through Opinion pieces to surface for our readers the conversations we hear executives having with colleagues and competitors, and connect the dots on emerging issues. The Information’s subscribers include decision makers at many tech, finance, entertainment and media organizations.
The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of technology and business, and connections to the companies, executives, entrepreneurs, funders, researchers and thinkers driving the industry. He or she will also have extensive editing experience, and having worked on opinion pieces is a plus. This role requires real persistence and organization and an interest in rolling up your sleeves to work through ideas and copy.
This is an opportunity to join the growing team of journalists at The Information, who cover what’s important in tech and media for a discerning audience. Founded in 2013, The Information has attracted tens of thousands of paying subscribers—putting the business on firm footing. Our subscribers include some of the most influential people on the planet. Our editing team includes alumni of the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg and the New York Times.
