For over 10 years, The Infatuation has reviewed restaurants. And until recently, that was the sole focus of our editorial approach. As you might suspect, the past six months have made that pretty interesting. In addition to adapting and rethinking the way we write about restaurants, we’ve also expanded our editorial scope to start writing about cocktails, wine, and other areas in the food and drink space. Some other areas we’ll be covering include beer, coffee, and home entertaining, but that’s just the start.

We see an exciting opportunity for affiliate revenue in these spaces, and are looking for a seasoned leader to help us build out this new business line. As Head of Affiliate, you will lead all efforts around operationalizing and monetizing our affiliate business. You’ll work closely with our Editor in Chief, Head of Audience Development, and product team on a regular basis. And while you’ll start as a team of one, you will have a budget to hire a small team to support you. There’s also a strong possibility that this person will oversee our commerce efforts down the line. Experience in e-commerce is an added bonus, not a requirement.

What You'll Do In This Role:

  • Identify verticals where we are most likely to yield affiliate returns - we’ve already started building out wine and cocktails, and would like to add several more verticals to our slate
  • Help to set, and then achieve, quarterly revenue goals for affiliate sales
  • Develop our strategic affiliate roadmap
  • Collaborate with editorial leadership to best position and package our content for affiliate sales, while still maintaining our editorial standards through high quality content
  • Partner with Head of Audience Development to ensure our recommendation content is seen by a large and diverse audience
  • Work closely with product team to develop excellent user experiences and test new features and landing pages
  • Build and maintain relationships with our affiliate partners
  • Onboard new partners and work with them to optimize product offerings
  • Help establish a reporting process to monitor campaign performance
  • Research and select best-in-class affiliate technology services

You're A Good Fit For This Role If:

  • You have experience building in-house affiliate programs from the ground up - and demonstrated success in doing so
  • You have a deep understanding of the affiliate landscape, recommendation content, and trends within the industry
  • You come from a growth marketing background at a D2C company or digital publisher
  • You're excellent at building - both internally and externally
  • You have expert level understanding of third-party affiliate platforms (AWIN, Rakuten, FlexOffers, etc.)
  • You're experience in hiring and people management
