Job Summary:
The Camp Counselor is responsible for daily supervision of campers and execution of all programming related to Camp. The job will require shifts ranging from Morning and/or afternoon Monday – Friday. The person in this position must be patient and have understanding while working with youth participants.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Direct communications between fellow staff, campers, parents and management
- Inform customers of daily schedules and/or adjustments
- Resolve customer challenges, utilizing the Camp Lead and staff when necessary
- Complete daily roster and check-in of all campers
- Organize and direct all campers between assigned activity stations
- Talk with parents to address concerns and questions regarding the daily camp activities
Required Knowledge/Skills/ Job Qualifications:
- Strong computer skills a plus
- Detail oriented, well-organized, able to work independently on assigned projects while under pressure
- Ability to work as a team player and be self-motivated
- Job Reliability, diligence, dedication and attention to detail
- Must be at least 16 years of age and have reliable transportation
- Bilingual Preferred but not required
- Skating and the ability to lead groups of skaters is ideal
Work Environment:
This position works in an arena where the noise level is generally high, crowd traffic is heavy, temperatures are variable – often cold; lights are bright or dark with occasional exposure to flashing lights and pyrotechnics. And also outside where temperatures vary and there will be exposure to sun.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a part-time, seasonal position at the Baptist Health IcePlex in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Must be able to work flexible hours.
