We are looking for a passionate and experienced Chief of Staff to join our CEO. Candidates who have experience in biotechnology, synthetic biology, food, beverage, and/or ingredient manufacturing industries are encouraged to apply. 

Responsibilities

  • Stand in for the CEO: be able to represent CEO in meetings 
  • Spearhead and manage investor relationships and updates
  • Prepare and present board management presentations
  • Special Projects: looking for inefficiencies in the organization and working with the team to fix, bring in new strategic initiatives and operationalize them through the team. 
  • Manage external technology collaborations with emphasis on developing dashboards to track milestones and critical resourcing needs
  • Develop pre-reads for critical meetings and facilitate departmental meetings, including weekly meetings with the CEO and the CEO’s direct reports, as well as monthly All-Hands meetings
  • Review departmental budgets on an ongoing basis to ensure compliance; escalate issues as-needed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM fields preferred.
  • Advanced degree (MS, PhD, MBA, etc.) preferred but not required.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience, including 2+ years in biotechnology or a related field.
  • Experience in project / program / product management and execution in a technical domain.

Nice-to-haves (but not required)

  • Experience at a high-growth startup in synthetic biology or food and beverage industries and/or venture capitalist firm 
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both in creation and execution.
  • Ability to take risks to achieve desired results.
  • Ability to adapt and support others through change, ambiguity, and complexity.
