About This Job

As a Product Design Lead at Dutchie, you’ll play a crucial role in leading and shaping high-impact, strategic design efforts across multiple areas of ownership. This role is a Player-Coach position, meaning you will have the opportunity to directly influence product experiences as an individual contributor while also shaping and guiding the design team’s growth and development.

You’ll work closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to align efforts, ensuring our product vision scales effectively to achieve business objectives and drive success. This position is ideal for someone who thrives as a player-coach, equally passionate about building products and nurturing design talent in a fully remote, dynamic and fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do...

  • Design Execution: As an individual contributor, take ownership of the entire design process for desktop and mobile experiences, from conception to launch. You will work and lead through complex design challenges by translating insights from research, analytics, and customer feedback into clear, impactful solutions and feature sets. You bring a strong point of view and lead by example that helps set a high standard for quality and output.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Mentor and manage other designers, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes growth, innovation, and high performance. You will also be responsible for hiring and onboarding new team members, ensuring they are set up for success and integration within the team.  Your expertise will help us continuously improve our design processes, principles, and tooling. 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to align on product vision and ensure feasibility. Together, you’ll transform ideas into actionable solutions, balancing user needs and technical capabilities to deliver seamless and impactful user experiences. 
  • Design Strategy: Establish and drive best practices, maintaining consistency and quality across our product lines. You will guide future design states using data, best practices, innovative concepts, and systems thinking, ensuring alignment with business goals. By collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you’ll shape strategies that not only enhance user experiences but also drive measurable business outcomes and product success.
  • User Experience Research: Champion user needs through discovery sessions, usability testing, and continuous feedback loops. This role emphasizes deep customer research to ensure our design solutions are informed by real-world feedback and insights, driving experiences that resonate and add value for our customers.

What You Bring...

  • 7+ years of experience in product design, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality, user-centered solutions that drive business growth.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing B2B experiences with a focus on optimizing complex interfaces.
  • Strong visual and interaction design skills paired with a strategic mindset, enabling you to tackle design challenges that balance user needs, technical feasibility, and business goals.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation to ensure smooth and actionable collaboration between other designers, stakeholders and cross-functional partners. 
  • Master of design,  prototyping and collaboration tools including Figma and Miro, as well as project management and communication platforms like Slack and JIRA.
  • Nice to have: Past experience with SaaS platforms, e-commerce POS or B2B experience, particularly in the cannabis or retail technology space.

You’ll Get…

We are targeting a starting salary of $180,000 based on the intended level for this role. There may be flexibility on individual compensation packages based candidate skill set, experience, qualifications and other position-related factors.
