The Daily Beast is seeking talented, motivated students to join our New York newsroom for one weekend this fall to participate in a general assignment reporting boot camp. Open to undergraduate juniors, seniors, and graduate students who are members of NABJ, NAHJ, AAJA, NAJA or NLGJA, the boot camp is an exciting opportunity for emerging journalists to learn how a newsroom works through hands-on experience.
Students will pitch and report news briefs and participate in training sessions with Daily Beast editors and reporters. Ideal candidates are flexible, fast-moving news junkies who are eager to contribute to breaking news.
Experience in writing and reporting from a previous internship or campus publication
A voracious appetite for current affairs, pop culture, and internet trends
Proven ability to meet short deadlines
