Our Research Analyst (RA) Summer Internship Opportunity:

This internship program will provide you with the opportunity to apply the economic and financial concepts you’re learning in the classroom in a professional services setting. It will also help you to improve your research and data analysis skills as well as learn to manage and prioritize tasks. You will work side by side with internationally recognized experts in financial economics, corporate finance, energy, competition, and regulatory economics.

The Candidate

An ideal Brattle RA Intern:

  • Typically working towards a Master's degree in economics, finance or other quantitative subjects.
  • Have exceptional analytical skills (preferably data analysis experience using software such as Excel, VBA, R or Stata), a passion for creative problem-solving, and the ability to communicate complex concepts effectively.
  • Work seamlessly in teams.
  • Looking to learn and take ownership of their work.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is essential, and other European languages are a plus.

Typical Assignments Might Include:

  • Providing in-depth research, summarizing documents, and communicating with project team members at all levels.
  • Auditing and contributing to the creation of financial, economic, and operational models.
  • Adapting economic theory to apply to real life questions and problems.
  • Reviewing literature and industry trends to understand the debate around key developments.
  • Analysing companies and markets; understand, perform economic/financial analysis to estimate company valuation, cost of capital, damages in international litigations (corporate finance is a big portion of the job).

The work environment is casual; the atmosphere is collegial; and there is significant, on-going contact between senior and junior staff.
