Founded in 2021 in response to the rise in anti-Asian hate and to address the long-standing underinvestment in AAPI communities, TAAF funds best in class organizations working to mobilize against hate and violence, educate communities, and reclaim our narratives through our core pillars of Anti-Hate, Education, Narrative Change, and Resources & Representation. About the Internship

TAAF is excited to offer an internship program that will provide participants with challenging, meaningful, and real-world experience. Participants will support departments on a variety of high-stakes projects related to administrative support, process development and improvement, and project management. In addition to having a dedicated mentor, participants will receive access to leadership and professional growth activities to gain valuable career experience in a fast paced startup environment focused on social change. 

The intern working in grants administration will play a pivotal role in enhancing our grants management processes and documentation. This intern will be responsible for organizing and helping to import historical grant data into our systems, ensuring accuracy and accessibility in our records, and assisting in the refinement of our existing How-To Guides and internal documentation for our grant management system (Submittable) for better usability and compliance. By the end of the engagement, all past grantee records (210 records) will be ready for import into TAAF’s grant management system and TAAF’s documentation guides will be up to date. Interns will collaborate and present a deep dive at the end of their internship to the greater TAAF team on their findings and recommendations. Our ideal intern will believe in working strategically with transparency and accountability, embrace a culture of learning, work respectfully with compassion, kindness and gratitude, and seek to be inclusive and collaborative in decision-making. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Compile data from disparate files into spreadsheets to prepare for a historical records import in Submittable
  • Revise/revamp Submittable How-To Guides for formatting consistency (add GIFs/screenshots and developing more FAQs based on Submittable research
  • Research accessibility and ADA compliance and make documents more accessible (image alt-text, screen reader paragraph breaks, etc)
  • File organization/renaming in Google Drive
  • Copy/format all final Submittable forms copy into Google Docs for our records
  • Research/update list of professional development opportunities for Programs Team
  • Research team-bonding opportunities/ideas and play around in Cloverleaf and look up ways of incorporating Cloverleaf into our team
  • Complete other special projects and duties as assigned

 

Job Requirements

Education/Experience

  • Currently enrolled or recently graduated from a secondary school, accredited technical/vocational program, college or university in the United States

 

Required Skills

  • Willingness to conduct 50+ hours of data entry
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong organization skills
  • Strong online research skills
  • Interest and willingness to research and learn about ADA compliance/accessibility and grants administration
  • Good communication skills
  • Proficient with the use of Google Workspace (Google Docs, Spreadsheets, Slides, etc.)
  • Passionately supports, understands, and can communicate our mission to serve the AAPI community in our pursuit of belonging and prosperity that is free from discrimination, slander, and violence

 

Compensation and Benefits

  • Hourly rate is $15.00 unless otherwise determined by any applicable city, county and state regulations regarding minimum wage
