We are actively seeking a Senior Research Manager to oversee the team for our new AI & Fairness Project. AI & Fairness (https://allenai.org/fairness/) is AI2’s latest project building on our expertise in NLP, computer vision, and engineering to deliver a tangible positive impact on fairness.
As the leader of this brand new initiative, you will have the opportunity to build and lead the team and help drive and refine AI2's mission in an exciting, fast-paced research environment. We are seeking Scientists who are creative, visionary thinkers and passionate about making major impacts in their field. You also have the opportunity to author and present scientific papers and presentations for peer-reviewed journals and conferences, and help develop collaborative and strategic relationships with relevant academic, industrial, government, and standards organizations.
- Manage a growing team of researchers & engineers
- Shape the research portfolio of the Fairness team
- Maintain a healthy balance between short- and long-term research projects
- Enable successful integration of research components in the product
- Publish in top-tier venues
- PhD in a relevant field
- Demonstrable research impact
- An active member of the NLP/ML research community
- 5+ years relevant research experience
- Experience and / or interest in research that can have an immediate benefit to our users
- Experience working with product and engineering teams is a plus
- Management experience is a plus
