Who are we?

We are a rapidly growing team backed by some of the best venture capitalists in the country like Sequoia Capital from whom we raised our recent $17.1 million Series B. We’re a young company and we expect every early employee to be a massive contributor, create things that have never existed before, have fun, and be a friend to their co-workers. We Embrace Diverse Perspectives. We Focus On What Matters. We Make It Happen. We Say “Thanx” Generously. We literally say "Thanx" to each other in team meetings every week, as corny as it may be.

What about the engineering team?

Our team is driven, collaborative, and curious. Members of the team have many different work-styles and can be seen whiteboarding solutions to complex technical challenges, pair-programming on the right problem, or heads down cranking out code. We are builders and love creating technology that solves real-world problems. We take pride in both the impact and quality of what we build. We also host hackathons, where you get to hack away at whatever it is that excites you from extracurricular programming projects to freestyle painting of the walls.

Who are you?

You love building products that change the world around you and finding the most elegant solution in code. Even though you have a passion for front-end development, you take pride in owning and implementing end-to-end features.

You enjoy using cutting-edge technology to build beautiful, intuitive, well-written, and maintainable user experiences.

You proactively identify patterns in everything you touch and enjoy building components to reuse these patterns.

You are someone who is Passionate. Passionate about your role, problems to solve, coding or anything else. That passion energizes you.

You invest in other people. You recognize you're part of a whole. You learn from others, teach those around you, and truly care about the people you work with. We will invest in you to make you the best.

You will:

  • Lead the migration process from our legacy front-end stack (Mootools) while maintaining the existing platform with help from the team.
  • Educate the existing team on modern javascript frameworks, we love to learn!
  • Design a clean, componentized UI library.
  • Build and iterate upon end-to-end features with a focus on user experience.
  • Work with a small tight-knit team of full-stack engineers.
  • Work closely with the product, design, and marketing teams.

You have:

  • A mastery (5+ years) of modern javascript frameworks (React, AngularJS, Ember.js, etc.) with the ability to work on the full stack.
  • Led an initiative to modernize a front-end platform.
  • Built extensible and maintainable CSS libraries.
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails or similar web application framework.
  • Worn many different hats in a fast-paced startup environment.

What is Thanx?

Thanx helps merchants build deeper, data-driven relationships with their best customers. We capture valuable transaction and lifetime value data about customers and enable merchants to act on that information with simple ROI-focused marketing campaigns. As a Software-as-a-Service offering, Thanx requires no point-of-sale integration or additional hardware, instead pulling data directly from proprietary partnerships with the major credit card companies — the result is a seamless merchant experience and equally joyful consumer experience which eliminates the hassles of plastic cards, phone numbers, punch cards and other traditional loyalty program staples which just slow things down.
