Job Overview

We want our tools to reach and help as many people as possible around the world, and our Head of Business Development; Australia/New Zealand, is directly responsible for growing our base of users and customers in Australia, New Zealand and across Asia PAC. 

This role requires an experienced and results oriented leader who will drive our business through a period of change, integration and expansion. The role requires a leader that will lead by example, taking personal responsibility for the success of the business in the region. 

The key objectives of growing our customer base, minimising churn and maximising market value will guide the development of strategy and tactics to be executed by the team.

The Texthelp Group’s current market position will act as a springboard for the Head of Business Development to grow our business in new areas, with an expanded and exciting product suite. We have ambition to significantly grow our business in the region reaching new users with technology to support them through education and in later life.

Main Responsibilities

  • Maintain and grow our current customer base and acquire new customers in line with our growth objectives
  • Develop and implement strategy to grow our customer base in Australia and New Zealand, including the development and execution of new product go to market plans.
  • As the senior leader in the region,  communicate the local strategy to employees, creating a sense of togetherness, excitement and ownership by ensuring everyone understands the part they play in achieving the strategic objectives
  • Achieve commercial sales targets by ensuring individual and team quarterly and yearly targets are met or exceeded. Regularly update employees on progress towards goals, identifying key successes and highlighting where additional focus is required
  • Build a world class SAAS organisation through a focus on productivity and aligning the organisation structures and targets around tracking and delivering world class SAAS metrics including
    •  Net Dollar Retention, Gross Dollar Retention, Churn, Annual Recurring Revenue Growth % , Average Revenue Per Account
  • Build a performance culture that is data driven and has an ongoing growth mindset and seeks to continually improve, including
    • Working with team members to maintain an accurate forecast and CRM hygiene including accurate and consistent activity recording
    • Providing weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting for the senior leadership team as required
    • Working with senior management to optimise the process and performance of the organisation in the region
  • Develop a team with a culture of accountability and excellence by proactively managing the performance of your team, reviewing objectives and providing feedback on a regular basis.Ownership of eNPS for the region, creating action plans to improve the overall employee experience
  • Develop and nurture close working relationships with key stakeholders in appropriate government bodies, industry associations, sector associations and other relevant bodies to support our business in key areas
  • Create and maintain a strong sense of alignment with the broader Texthelp group of companies, ensuring regional representation in global initiatives
  • Responsible for business continuity and ensuring that disaster recovery plans are kept up to date. Act as first point of contact for all incidents and ensure key personnel are informed and engaged without delay e.g. significant service disruptions
  • Responsible for making sure the work environment is safe and that all health and safety legislation is complied with

Essential Criteria

  • 3+  years  business to business sales management experience at a senior level in a relevant sector, including team leadership. 
  • Experience in change management and business transformation and exponential growth
  • A proven track record of business development, sales achievement and management rigour
  • Experience of utilising both market intelligence and data driven insights to inform and maximise sales opportunities and strategies
  • Experience of using metrics and data to increase team effectiveness 
  • Organised, responsible and empathetic 
  • Demonstrated success as a leader and team player who can inspire people to collaborate and work well together. A ‘player coach’ who will lead from the front.

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience in the EdTech industries or with the population we serve.
  • Previous experience working with a SaaS business
