About the role

Working as an Associate Software Test Engineer, you will work closely with the software quality and development team to ensure quality standards are upheld for all Texthelp products. You will be an important member of Texthelp’s software quality assurance team working on educational and access to work literacy and Math products. 

You will utilise manual testing techniques and analyse automated test plan results  to ensure high quality product releases are achieved. You will be comfortable working as a part of an Agile sprint team.

Main Responsibilities

  • The candidate will be responsible for testing a range of software products developed by Texthelp, including web applications, web services, desktop and mobile applications 
  • The candidate will be responsible for maintaining and running a suite of manual tests and for carrying out manual exploratory testing
  • They will take part in daily project sprint meetings, giving feedback on the progress of testing and reporting any issues or impediments to the rest of the project team  
  • They will be responsible for logging bugs and testing progress in an Agile project management system 
  • They will be responsible for analysing the results of automated tests and logging bugs in relation to test failures 

Essential Criteria

  • Degree in Software engineering or equivalent
  • 1+ years’ experience in a software testing role 
  • Experience working as part of an Agile sprint team 
  • Experience writing and maintaining manual test plans
  • Experience testing and debugging Web Applications
  • Basic knowledge of software testing methodologies and concepts

Desirable Criteria

  • Knowledge of IOS and Android operating systems
  • Knowledge of Browser Extensions and Add-ons 
  • Experience using Microsoft DevOPs 
  • Experience using test automation tools (preferably Selenium WebDriver) and Rest API testing
  • Basic Knowledge of Javascript
