Financial Controller – ACT Solutions APAC PTE LTD

What you will do: 

 We are looking for a talented Financial Controller who thrives in an international, dynamic environment. You will be part of the Finance & Operations team of ACT Solutions APAC Pte Ltd, based in Singapore.  

 

You will report to the Financial Director (APAC) and have active communication lines with internal stakeholders. To do that successfully, you need to be assertive and decisive, have sound technical accounting knowledge and have a service-minded attitude and an energetic personality. 

 

As the Financial Controller you will have accounting & reporting responsibilities for your respective business entities in the APAC region; ranging from the month-end close, preparation and processing of memo postings (or management and supervision of outsourced service providers to deliver this), control of the Balance Sheet (checks, accruals, provisions, reconciliations) and P&L, to the preparation of the financial reporting packs. You will support the Financial Director in ensuring both local GAAP (where applicable) and IFRS/SFRS compliant reporting.  

 

As the Financial Controller you will also work closely with the ACT Group Control and Shared Service teams based in the Netherlands. We expect you to actively contribute into implementing and improving reporting and financial controls. 

 

 

 

 

 Financial Control 

  • Ensure and monitor proper accounting concepts within end-to-end processes 
  • Analyze and review of the Balance Sheet and P&L 
  • Control balance sheet (checks, accruals, provisions, reconciliation). 
  • Ensure timely payment of vendors and receipts from customers 
  • Supervision and review of work performed by outsourced service providers 

  

 

 

 

Financial Reporting 

  • Ensure month- and year-end closing according to applicable deadlines 
  • Ensure reliable, timely and complete financial accounts for designated legal entities in accordance with applicable accounting principles 
  • Prepare reporting packs and assist with reporting narratives. 
  • Assist with co-ordination and review of GST and tax filings prepared by service providers 
  • Assist with the preparation of any materials required to meet legal or statutory filing requirements 

  

 

 

Internal control 

  • Co-develop policies and procedures within financial control, in collaboration with Group Control and SSC; 
  • Perform financial control processes and assist in improvements; 
  • Support FD and Group teams in Co-ordination and management of an efficient and effective audit process. 

  

 

Your profile: 

  • University degree in Accounting or related studies; 
  • Experience with financial control and accounting; 
  • At least 4 years’ experience, within a Big 4 Audit firm is a plus; 
  • Excellent communication skills in English as this is our language of business; 
  • Knowledge of and experience with IFRS and/or SFRS (firm understanding of IFRS 9 is a plus); 
  • Experience in GST  
  • Experience with process implementation and/or improvement projects would be a very strong plus; 
  • Proven ability working with different stakeholders at varying levels of seniority 
  • High attention to detail 
  • Can work independently  
  • Able to adapt to change/flexibility
