TeraPore Technologies is a venture-backed startup developing cutting edge nanoseparations materials for the biopharmaceutical market and beyond. Our team is comprised of PhD scientists, separation experts, and biopharma industry veterans, all passionate about enabling safer, cleaner life science products. 

TeraPore is seeking a self-motivated Scientist III to work on chemical modifications and explore next-gen applications of our nanoseparations platform technology. A strong polymer chemistry background with knowledge of polymer physics, wet chemistry lab experience, and ability to generate and analyze data in context is critical for the success of this role.  

Responsibilities:

  • Developing new surface modification technologies and exploring new application areas for TeraPore’s novel bioseparations platform
  • Researching and developing novel protocols and test methods
  • Investigating separations needs alongside collaborators and team members
  • Utilizing multiple analytical tools to generate meaningful data
  • Project-based work with specific materials performance targets identified in collaboration with partners and other team members

Requirements:

  • Must hold at least a Master’s degree in polymer chemistry or related field, PhD preferred
  • 4+ years of industrial working experiences required
  • Must have publications in peer-reviewed journals and/or patents
  • Strong hands-on experience in wet chemistry and polymer chemistry synthesis
  • Must have fundamental knowledge of polymer physics
  • Experience in separation, purification, filtration, and/or chromatography
  • Experience with analytical tools such as FTIR, SEM, NMR, UV-Visible spectroscopy, chromatography, and GPC preferred
  • Experience with surface analytical tools such as AFM and ellipsometry preferred
  • Ability to work in an interdisciplinary and dynamic small-team environment
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in developing, reviewing, and following protocols
