The Systems Engineering team is responsible for all the low level management from within the ASIC to the system level; this includes pre-silicon activities all the way to production. This position will be primarily focused on data movement within and between chips (Ie. Data Fabric). Additionally, the successful candidate will gain experience with state-of-the-art ML processor architecture, embedded firmware development, board design and debugging while supporting various teams around Tenstorrent.
This role is hybrid, based out of Toronto, Canada, Santa Clara, California, and Austin, Texas.

Responsibilities:
- Develop firmware-level networking stack, potentially including router, on RISC-V to enable interchip / intersystem communication
- Extensive knowledge of low-level ethernet protocols up through full TCP stacks and communications, along with an understanding of STP, RSTP, MSTP, IPv4, IPv6, ARP, multicast
- Characterize NOC traffic and performance
- Execute ML processor, board, and system bring-up and validation
- Work with the SoC design team for pre-silicon validation and deliverables
- Innovate on test infrastructure to reduce test time
- Build out CI/CD pipelines to ensure QOSArchitect and develop frameworks for automating post-silicon verification, data analysis, and debugging
- Drive issue debugging across all product life cycle phases: bring-up, validation, and production
Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Master’s in Electrical or Computer Engineering with more than 8 years of experience
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent programming skills in C, C++, and Python
- Strong understanding of computer architecture and logic design
- Experience in scripting and test automation
- Good understanding of circuit design, power regulation, high-speed signal propagation
- Experience using lab equipment: high-speed oscilloscopes, logic, and protocol analyzers
- Interest in and understanding of machine learning
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally and drive issues to closure
Compensation for all engineers at Tenstorrent ranges from $100k - $500k including base and variable compensation targets. Experience, skills, education, background and location all impact the actual offer made.
