Tenstorrent is seeking a Foundry Technologist on our Physical Engineering team to lead the development and qualification of next-generation process technologies (4nm and below), at leading semiconductor foundries.
This role is hybrid, based out of Austin, TX, Santa Clara, CA, or Ft Collins, CO.

Responsibilities:
- Lead the assessment of advanced CMOS and memory technologies. Be a key stakeholder in internal technology roadmap discussions and selections. Ensure timely resolution and execution of technology-related decisions
- Comprehensive evaluation and selection of foundry processes for Tenstorrent based on PPA, Cost and Time-to-market. Validate process capabilities to meet our requirements
- Drive strategic engagements with partner foundries on Design Technology Co-Optimization. Ensure foundries meet process development and qualification schedules
- Review and analyze foundry Process Design Kits (PDKs) and design collaterals for accuracy and quality.
- Conduct Ring-oscillator Sims and early PPA assessments to provide technology/scaling trends and set competitive technology targets and differentiated roadmaps
- Be the primary interface to Internal design and external foundry teams with respect to all foundation and other IP related queries, technology and Design Manual queries
- Build libraries for the foundation IPs and update internal tools, flows and release it to design teams for consumption. Collaborate with design teams to optimize processes for improved Performance, Power, and Area (PPA)
- Be a key liaison between the both pre and post silicon teams to help ensure we have optimal yield and binning strategies to enable high volume manufacturing
- Run synthesis and PnR on blocks using industry standard PnR tools
Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of related experience is strongly preferred
- Expertise in optimizing PPA for high performance and low power designs
- Hands-on experience with simulation, synthesis, block and chip level implementation with industry standard PnR flows and tools
- Prior experience working on high performance technology nodes and understanding of deep sub-micron design problems/solutions
- Prior experience working with Foundries is a must
- Cross functional experience working with pre and post silicon design teams is a plus
- Programming skills in Tcl/Perl/Shell/Python is preferred
Compensation for all engineers at Tenstorrent ranges from $100k - $500k including base and variable compensation targets. Experience, skills, education, background and location all impact the actual offer made.
