We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Application Engineer (FAE) to join our IP team. In this customer-facing role you will be responsible for owning and driving all aspects of the technical engagement with our IP customers. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with CPU, GPU or NPU IPs, along with a strong technical background in semiconductor technologies. In this highly visible role, you will directly contribute to the success and growth of the company.
This role is hybrid, based out of Santa Clara, CA
Responsibilities:
- Proactively and independently own customer engagements end-to-end, from discovery to technical win
- Drive evaluations, which may include technical deep-dive presentations, product demonstrations, PPA analysis, benchmarking, and other technical activities
- Provide customers with guidance on Tenstorrent’s products, specifically focusing on how our products provide value
- Clearly articulate the technical merits of Tenstorrent’s CPU IP products
- Provide timely, accurate, and effective responses to customer inquiries
- Clearly understand customers’ requirements and develop comprehensive solutions
- Collaborate with the Product and Engineering teams to drive product enhancements and improvements based on customer feedback
- Collaborate closely with the Sales team to effectively manage accounts and opportunities
Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, with 6+ years of industry experience
- Proven experience in a customer-facing role within the CPU IP industry is required
- Strong technical background in semiconductor technologies, CPU architectures, and system-level understanding
- Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent presentation skills with the ability to present to all levels of the organization
- Proven ability to organize and prioritize multiple simultaneous accounts
- Willingness to travel to customer sites and industry events, as required (25%)
- A track record of technical wins in a previous customer-facing role is strongly preferred
- Expertise with RISC-V ISA is strongly preferred
- Direct, first-hand experience with the Sales cycle and closing IP deals is strongly preferred
Compensation for all engineers at Tenstorrent ranges from $100k - $500k including base and variable compensation targets. Experience, skills, education, background and location all impact the actual offer made.
