Description 

We are seeking a professional with a minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience (professional services, corporate finance, investment banking or audit) to join our growing restructuring advisory team. We offer a unique entrepreneurial environment and the opportunity to work directly with distressed companies, financial sponsors, creditors, shareholders, and other stakeholders on situations both in- and out-of-court. The candidate we seek should have the ability to hit the ground running. Responsibilities 

  • Support project team in its day-to-day tasks, delivering value to our clients and serving as a trusted advisor 
  • Preparation and review of structured and ad-hoc financial analysis at the direction of team members, including building and maintaining 13-week cash flow, 3 statement, valuation and liquidation models 
  • Review financial statements, legal documents, and other relevant information and identify key relevant facts and begin to develop strategies 
  • Assist with contingency planning, Chapter 11 preparation and reporting, and litigation support analysis 
  • Develop and review research and pitch decks with various team members 
  • Directly manage and review work of junior team members providing leadership and coaching 
  • Drafting of written reports and/or presentations based on discussions of work product 
  • Build relationships across client teams and work directly with client to obtain relevant information 
  • Present analyses and insights to a variety of audiences including clients and other advisors 
  • Coordinate with team on schedules to meet agreed upon deadlines 
  • Develop relationships with peers on engagements including attorneys and investment bankers 
  • Identify work to be delegated to junior team members and adequately review and advise on work product 

 

Qualifications 

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or other related analytical and quantitative fields, preferred 
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in turnaround management, restructuring, performance improvement, investment or commercial banking, audit, FP&A and/or corporate advisory services or 4 years of work experience and an MBA 
  • Energetic, hardworking, creative team player who can excel in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, challenging work environment 
  • Ability to work well against deadlines and stay on task while supporting multiple work streams 
  • Demonstrate proven ability to identify key issues, synthesize analysis, and draw conclusions 
  • Display significant knowledge in financial/operational restructurings, bankruptcy processes, valuation, litigation support 
  • Proven understanding of financial modeling and analysis and significant experience in the same 
  • Understand common bankruptcy terms, key provisions of the code and key terms in various agreements (credit, contracts, etc.) 
  • Understanding of operational and financial restructuring concepts informed by engagement experience and ability to clearly articulate those views to other team members 
  • Advanced written communication skills, ability to prepare well laid out, easily understood analysis and presentations 
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and/or Access, required 
  • Excellent research abilities including familiarity with Internet-based financial research resources for corporate information, SEC filings, competitive data, etc. 
  • Minimum of 3 days attendance in office for non-remote positions 
  • Willingness to work outside of normal U.S. business hours, as projects require 
  • Ability and willingness to undertake travel, as required

Base Salary Range
$150,000 – $200,000 (compensation for this role will depend on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience that may fall outside of the range listed). 

 

Bonus Eligible Yes 

 

Total Compensation Package
Includes annualized bonus, 401k match, healthcare coverage and a broad range of additional benefits and rewards. 

 

Flexible Work Policy
Teneo believes in in-person collaboration when possible and if you are assigned to the New York, Washington D.C, San Francisco and Boston offices, the company expectation is for employees to work from the office location a minimum of three times a week.
