Compensation & Benefits

  • Setting and review of compensation policies, guidance for South East Asia countries, running discussion points with HQ as well as external benchmarking exercises to ensure our compensation principles have relevance and are competitive in the market;
  • Review of benefits for the South East Asia region, coming up with localized programs targeting employee life milestones, mental health, insurance and annual leaves while ensuring there is fundamental alignment across the region;
  • Plan and administer benefits programs for all types of employees including enrolments and terminations;
  • Serve as an expert on all C&B related matters and act as the point of contact for any queries;
  • Partner with country HR and legal teams to keep abreast of legislative changes to ensure compliance between Tencent’s offering and with local regulations;


  • Responsible for the end to end payroll processes across South East Asia, including processing payroll for all types of employees, data accuracy, process control improvements and ensuring to meet the agreed SLAs
  • Implement and maintain payroll best practices to improve efficiency and consult with human resources team to improve payroll processes;
  • Works collaboratively with HQ global payroll team and payroll vendor to prepare payroll reports and required data;
  • Evaluate and implement payroll systems upgrades and changes;
  • Fulfill all governmental regulatory mandates (monthly contributions and yearly tax filling, etc);
  • Q&A with employees


  • Participating the HR budget planning every year;
  • Participate in ad-hoc tasks and a diverse variety of HR projects or initiatives if needed;

Knowledge & Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree;
  • 6-8 years of hands-on payroll, benefits management experience from sizable organizations is preferred; experience in compensation management will be a plus;
  • Proficient in Singapore labor laws and payroll regulations, enjoys working with large sets of data, is meticulous and detail oriented;
  • Strategic yet strong execution skills, self-driven, conscientious, strong adaptability and fast learner;
  • Proven stakeholder management ability;
  • Ability to work in a highly complex matrixed organization and in a start-up environment; Previous experience within the Tech & Startup sector will be highly sought after;
  • Ability to communicate bilingually (English / Mandarin) to work with both international stakeholders and China HQ based teammates
