Timi J3 studios are looking for a talented and experienced Senior / Principal animator to help build one of our unannounced FPS projects. You will be the vision holder for the animation department and work closely with all the directors and leads to help define the animation direction for the game.

Timi J3 studios made some of the most popular FPS games on the market, including the award-winning - Call of Duty Mobile. The game we are working on right now is ambitious and stylized, full of energy and creativity. Not only do we want to create one of the best competitive shooter experiences, but we also want to create memorable co-op missions and PVE content in the near future.

For the nature of this job and the current development of the COVID-19 pandemic, Timi J3 studios are offering a full work-from-home position for this role. We are allowing the candidate to work remotely as long as they can be flexible with the weekly meeting schedule and deliver the feedback/content in a timely manner. The flexible work situation and remote policy are subject to change at Timi J3 studios’ discretion.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Work closely with the Art director, Narrative lead, and Creative directors to establish the look and feel of gameplay animation for the game.
Work with the tech art team to establish and refine the animation pipeline.
Work closely with Design, Animation, and Art to create compelling characters that help sell the aesthetic quality we strive for.
Creating responsiveness, compelling, and impactful animation for 1P/3P of characters and weapons.
Review and refine the process of character creation, from block-out to the final in-game asset creation.
Identify the risks during early visual development and actively coming up with solutions to mitigate them.
Mentor and guide team members to level up their animation skills and core development competencies.

8+ years of experience creating characters/weapon animation,1P, and 3P, for industry-leading games.
Deep understanding of creating animation to help balance game-play needs while “feel” good and impactful.
Expert level of understanding animation blending trees and state machines.
Deep understanding of how to express the character’s gameplay design plus narrative design in a cohesive package.
Master level of knowledge and understanding of animation principles and experience with a variety of animation styles.
Good communicating skills and ability to provide efficient feedback to team members.
Ability to work under deadlines, manage and prioritize tasks, and is self-motivated.
Expert knowledge and understanding of UE4 and industry software, tools, and pipelines. Such as Maya/Max or any equivalent animation software and tools.

Bonus Skills:
Prior Leadership\Mentoring experience.
Has experience working on none human forms of creatures and PVE contents.
Mandarin language skills are a plus.
