Timi J3 studios is looking for a Narrative Lead to focus on supporting narrative and world building development for one of our unannounced FPS (First person shooter) projects. The successful candidate has experience leading narrative teams from concept to launch on live service games, or needs to have equivalent narrative design experience in the movie/TV industry. As a Narrative Lead, you will support our team in Shenzhen by guiding them in making the framework for character backgrounds, creating style guides for script writing, mood boards for environment/weapons, and even storylines for world building for our IP development.
The Narrative Lead will maintain the quality of the original IP and create extra value on top of that to please our fans all over the world.
The Narrative Lead will work closely with the Creative Director and other Directors/Leads from the teams in Shenzhen and U.S. to deliver timely feedback to our internal and external partners.
For the nature of this job and the current development of the COVID-19 pandemic, Timi J3 studios are offering a full work from home position for this role. We are allowing the candidate to work remotely as long as they can be flexible with the weekly meeting schedule and deliver the feedback/content in a timely manner. The flexible work situation and remote policy is subject to change at Timi J3 studios’s discretion.
Work closely with the development team in US and Shenzhen to develop and expand the value of the original IP
Define project-specific narrative quality bar required to meet the IP standards
Lead the narrative team to create all the content needed for the project, including generating character bios, environment guides, script lines, story development for world building, casting documents and other supporting narrative documentation
Identify the risks during narrative production and actively coming up solutions to mitigate
Work closely with our Directors team, drive any execution of project narrative content internally and externally created at Timi J3 studios
Champion external partner’s creative plans to internal IP stakeholders
Mentor and guide team members to level up their narrative craft and core development competencies
Working knowledge of a successful AAA FPS live games (game as a service)
Game industry experience in a creative leadership/production role
Outstanding communication, team awareness, proactiveness
Ability to provide different solutions for problem solving, and flexibility to react quickly to needed changes accordingly
Detailed understanding of all aspects of the narrative design development process, including design methodology, craftsmanship, production, and collaboration with external CG studios and voice vendors
Experience creating framework or examples of detailed scripts or any equivalent narrative content as needed
Willing to work outside of core hours for conference calls with team in Shenzhen or the external partners (team meeting usually happens from 7:30pm PST to 9:00pm PST)
Experience working with games has PVE content
Mandarin language skills are a plus
