- Partnership Development:

 Assist in developing opportunities for Tencent in Western markets, with particular focus on the console and PC gaming market. Identify and prioritize potential partners, and quantify the opportunities in order to

properly present potential game licensing partnerships and investment opportunities to corporate headquarters.

 Identify licensing and investment opportunities, then participate in the negotiation & closing of deals in partnership with product, planning, operations, legal, finance, and investment departments.

Build and manage relationships with publishers and developers in a positive and constructive fashion, enhancing Tencent’s relationship within the industry as an honest, direct, helpful and high value add partner in every interaction, regardless of if it results in a signed deal.

 Work with partners to launch new products and maximize value from existing products.

 

- Market Research

Develop intelligence on the game industry in Europe and America (with focus on Europe) by playing current games, gathering

and analyzing relevant industry news and reports, and building and maintaining a network of industry

insiders.

- Team Player

Share insights, knowledge, partners and introductions with the larger team. Work well in a

collaborative group atmosphere where team accomplishment trumps individual achievement. Be a selfstarter,

self-critical, and a self-motivated and curious student of learning new things. Be smart.

 

Skills Required

 

Deep industry experience in gaming and/or internet industries. Digital native. Intimately familiar with

major companies and products in both China and Western gaming and/or internet industries.

 

Deep functional expertise in business development and/or investment. Business development

experience could include monetary negotiations and all attendant commercial clauses, with bonus for

legal experience and/or licensing background. Investment experience could include VC/PE and/or

corporate development roles that include due diligence, funding and valuation negotiations, familiarity

with major investment term sheet clauses, and/or post-acquisition deal, team and process

management.

Native or professional fluency in English, written and spoken.
