Your Role:
Tenable is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Identity Security platform team. In this role, you'll be instrumental in building and scaling our identity security solutions that help organizations worldwide secure their digital assets.
The Technology You'll Work With:
Primary: Kotlin, SQL (Snowflake, MSSQL, PostgreSQL)
Supporting: Apache Kafka, DynamoDB, S3, C#, NodeJS
Infrastructure: AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Azure
Your Opportunity:
Design and implement high-performance, scalable backend services in Kotlin
Develop and optimize SQL workflows to manage high data volume
Build robust data processing pipelines for identity and access management data
Create efficient APIs that power our security analytics engine
Collaborate on database design and optimization
Write comprehensive unit and integration tests
Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions
Manage and secure digital identities across cloud platforms
Detect and remediate security vulnerabilities
Analyze and optimize access patterns
Ensure compliance with security standards
Technical Environment:
Event-driven architecture using Kafka and APIs for real-time data processing
Container-based deployment using Kubernetes
Automated testing and deployment pipelines
Continuous Development powered by feature flags
Focus on observability and monitoring
What You'll Need:
Successful experience in backend development
Strong proficiency in Kotlin or similar object oriented language.
Professional-level SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases at scale
Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices
Solid understanding of concurrent and distributed systems
And Ideally:
Contributions to open-source projects
Experience with multi-tenant cloud-native development
Database performance tuning experience
Familiarity with Kubernetes and container orchestration
Previous experience in cybersecurity or identity management
