To support the development of its game-changing technology, Tenable is looking for an Engineering Manager.

At Tenable our mission is to help businesses stay safe, by detecting security vulnerabilities early and help our customers manage risks and prioritize resolution efforts.

  • Identity: The product (Tenable Identity Exposure) you’ll work on aims at securing Identity Providers and identities accesses across all kinds of business applications.

Technical context: Our organization works with a modern technical stack, relying on automated tests, continuously deploying, backed by a modern devops toolset. 

Organizational context: Most teams in our organization are cross-functional teams of around 8 people. We always aim to have a customer-centric approach, delivering innovative features by working closely with Product Managers and UX Designers.

Your Role:

Your job will be to lead a team of 6 engineers. As a Product owner, you’ll have to understand our product, our users and the strategic goals that our organization is trying to achieve. The product owners are an indispensable relay in the communication between the PM, leadership and the team. 

  • Responsibilities:
    • Ensure the quarter roadmap is clearly defined and broken down into sprints delivering functional increments of value. 
    • Help the team understand the product and users.
    • Embrace teamwork and agility.


As a People Manager, you’ll have to ensure team members' well-being, individual growth, performance reviews but also team cohesion.

  • Responsibilities: 
    • Hire, grow, motivate and manage the performances of your team members.
    • Be an agent of Tenable’s culture and values, an agent of change.
    • Establish your team’s process & facilitate your team’s meetings.

What you'll need:

  • Engineering Management experience:
    • You have managed teams for several years now
    • You have been responsible for roadmaps, product decisions, and providing reliable estimates of delivery dates. 
    • You have battle-tested techniques to refine broad features into well-crafted, functional User Stories.
    • You manage emergencies well. You are able to quickly deal with ambiguous situations and quickly provide clear prioritization of work.
  • Software engineering experience:
    • A solid background in software engineering is required. It allows you to understand the technical issues our team are facing.
  • Customer-centric mindset: Your ultimate satisfaction comes from creating great products that make a difference for their users.
