AKESOgen, Inc. is growing! The Manager, Project Management supervises the Management team and manages the day-to-day projects and resources within the team. The position supports relationships with AKESOgen’s Laboratory, Sales and Data Management teams, as well as relationships with AKESOgen’s clients. AKESOgen is a precision health and wellness genomics company striving to be the premiere genomics service provider for high throughput/high quality Precision medicine and consumer genetics.  This person will report to the Vice President of Client Services.

Responsibilities and Skills:

  • Oversee accurate and timely execution of deliverables for our ongoing research and clinical workflow projects.
  • Extensive mentoring and professional development of direct staff within Project Management Team
  •  Manage assigned staff and day-to-day activities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable regulations
  • Planning, assigning, and directing work; mentoring and training staff; performance management, including appraising performance and guiding professional development, rewarding and disciplining employees as applicable
  •  Continuous assessment of talent within project management and drive consistent, high-quality project management services.
  • Develop and encourage a culture of delivering “best-in-industry” customer service by ensuring rapid identification of issues and problems and ensuring timely communication of resolution outcomes to both internal and external customers.
  • Provide point of escalation support to team.
  • This position requires the ability to travel nationally (up to 5%).

Basic Qualifications:

  • B.S in Life Science, Biology or Business
  • Minimum one-year experience as a supervisor
  • Sharp attention to detail and ability to meet long- and short-term deadlines
  • 4-7 years of experience in project management, within a laboratory environment preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and experience facilitating strategic and tactical planning for excellent interaction with outside collaborators and clients
  • Genomic data background and experience

Safety:

  • Adherence to standard universal precautions
  • Exposure to biological and chemical hazards
